My name is Laura Fletcher and I am a mother of boy/girl twins that are seven. Before children, I had a career in publishing sales; selling advertising space both in magazines and online. Being a wanderlust, having a job that paid me to travel was a dream come true! After my twins were born, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. It was a hard decision and there are certainly days I miss the publishing industry, but it was the right decision for our family. Even though I left my career, I could not put aside my love of travel. Our first trip as a family of four was when the twins were 6 months old. Those first few trips were definitely challenging. As they grew it got easier and we started venturing a little farther afield with car trips to Northern California, Washington, Utah, and Arizona. It became obvious that our kids also had the “travel bug” just like their parents. With each trip we could see how our travel adventures were contributing to their overall growth and understanding of the world around them. Four years ago my parents inherited a 19′ travel trailer and we gained a new way to travel. It is not new or fancy, but it was just right to get our family out RV camping. After that first summer trip, our family was hooked. The idea for RV Adventures with Kids was born July 2014 as I began planning for our summer RV adventure. While chatting with friends about summer plans, I learned many of my acquaintances were really interested in RV camping with their kids, but didn’t know where to start. It was then that I knew that I wanted to share my knowledge so other families could enjoy the adventures that hitting the road offers. So, what can you expect dear reader? Topics will range from what to look for when renting an RV, how to plan your perfect itinerary, packing ideas, meal plans, recipes, how to entertain kids in the car and in camp, how to select campgrounds and reviews, how to capture all your memories when you return, and many other topics. I look forward to hearing from you too readers! Let me know what topics are of interest to you. Just send your ideas to email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will get right back to you!
